ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION: Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Northern Plains Regional Great Plains Area, PHS Indian Health Hospital, Rapid City, SD, Clinical Services Department. This position reports to the CEO.
The purpose of this position are the provision of comprehensive clinical medical care at a primary level in a hospital setting, the supervision of the Medical Staff, and the representation of the Medical Staff in the Governing Bodies of the Service Unit. The IHS is required by law to give absolute preference to qualified applicants who meet the Secretary of the Interior's definition of Indian for appointment to vacancies within the IHS in accordance with established IHS policy as outlined in the Indian Health Manual Part 7, Chapter 3.
