Responsible for collaborating with the Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager and other Perioperative leaders in managing, planning, organizing and facilitating the effective and efficient clinical day to day operations for the leadership of each surgical specialty area for the main operating room and throughout the continuum of care using good critical thinking skills. The Team Leader will serve as a role model by providing leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and change, as well as supports Department and System Policies and procedures. Makes decisions based on knowledge of best practice, and adheres to regulations set by regulatory agencies. Works interdependently to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Assures the effectiveness of unit based operational efficiency is framed in Performance Improvement Standards. Is responsible for Human Resources activities in collaboration of the Clinical Nurse Manager .for hiring, retention, recruitment, coaching, counseling, and planning for staff effectiveness. Responsible for operational budget for specialty service including development and monitoring for financial related to supply and implant conversions. This individual must be able to perform and become knowledgeable of all clinical procedures involving the specialties they are assigned and acting as Patient Flow Coordinator/ Charge Nurse, if needed. This individual must create an environment of professionalism, safe patient care, excellent customer service skills, excellent physician relationships and staff initiative to be involved and held accountable for departmental initiatives.
