The Michigan State University Division of Urology seeks Board Eligible / Board Certified candidates for a full-time, associate/assistant faculty position in our urological surgery division. We have a strong, established, clinical program that provides a broad range of opportunities for clinical practice, teaching, and research.
This position includes inpatient and outpatient surgical patient care. Urology faculty provide clinical patient care at both Sparrow Health System and McLaren Greater Lansing Hospitals, which each have state of the art operative suites with two robots (da Vinci Si and Xi) at each hospital. Hospital procedures include general urologic, brachytherapy, minimally invasive, and laparoscopic / da Vinci robotic surgeries. Office procedures include computerized urodynamics and vasectomies, ultrasound-guided prostate biopsies, and cystoscopies, in addition to routine urologic office surgical procedures.
The role includes strong clinical focus with active participation in the clinical education of urologic surgery residents within a hospital-funded, ACGME accredited, Urologic Surgery Residency Program, as well as medical students at Michigan State University. MSU has many collaborative research opportunities within its Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, Human Medicine, Nursing, and Veterinary Medicine. MSU’s health colleges work together to provide high-quality medical care, research, and education.
Residency training in Urologic Surgery with fellowship training in Urological Oncology or Minimally Invasive/Robotic Surgery with an Oncology focus is recommended. Required: Eligible for D.O. or M.D. license in Michigan; Board Eligible or Board Certified in urological surgery.
Recommended: Residency training in Urologic Surgery with fellowship training in Urological Oncology or Minimally Invasive/Robotic Surgery with an Oncology focus.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
Additional Salary Information: Compensation package may include base salary, clinical/contract revenue, moving expenses, and CME support funds.
