Pediatric Urology Surgical Physician Assistant
In this role, you will provide direct care to surgical patients pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively under the supervision of a physician/surgeon either in a clinical or a hospital setting. You will develop a comprehensive plan of care and review with the supervising physician and order appropriate tests and treatments as well as interpret test results and document appropriately. You will see patients and their parents in clinic as well as communicate with patients by telephone, video and electronically. You will be responsible for performing minor surgical and diagnostic procedures in clinic and operating room settings, assisting in surgical rounds at hospital; assisting surgeon during surgical procedures. In addition, you will participate in training and teaching staff and students as necessary and integrate the principles of patient safety and quality care into the daily practice.
Must have at least one year of recent Pediatric Urology or Pediatric Surgical experience.
Graduate from an accredited PA program.
Bachelor's degree required.
State licensure valid in jurisdiction where assigned.
Current or pending prescription authority including DEA and CLS required if authorized to prescribe controlled substances
Board Certification from NCCPA – renewed every six years
A current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
Written practice agreement with a supervising physician
Physician Professional Quality Assurance Office (PPQA) and the appropriate State Board
National Provider Identification (NPI)
