This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. The Urology clinic registered nurse (RN) is located in the outpatient setting. This role will require the RN to perform a variety of nursing tasks. This will include outpatient urologic procedures (Cystoscopy, Catheter exchanges, BCG instillation, etc), as well as coordination of care for urologic patients. The RN will be responsible to assist and support provider appointments and clinical needs. The RN will be expected to work collaboratively with providers and nursing support staff alike, multi-task with patient care needs and have strong team oriented philosophy as they will be working with a multidisciplinary outpatient specialty care team. He/she is accountable for adhering to established policies, standards of care and standards of practice; demonstrating leadership and accomplishments in developing and implementing programs to improve the delivery of patient care; and the administration, management, supervision and evaluation of both patient care and personnel assigned to his/her designated clinical area. He/she provides appropriate care for Veterans ranging in age from 18 through the geriatric years, taking into consideration diagnosis and physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural needs. He/she demonstrates, promotes, creates and ensures a culturally diverse workforce in which the values and needs of all individuals are respected. He/she supports an environment that fosters employees to perform to their full individual potential. May be responsible for triaging calls from Veterans and carry a pager. Will cross-cover to Medical-Surgical Specialty Clinics as necessary.
